Say Yes: Let's Go Fly A Kite Edition

The days were getting longer. The weather was getting warmer. And one night we decided to say yes. It would've been easier to just stay at home. Would've been better to do the dishes and fold a basket of laundry and lay out clothes for school tomorrow morning. But instead of giving into all the "we should probably's" when the girls asked if we could go fly a kite on a warmish weeknight, we said yes. That hour or so flying Bea's new birthday kite on a still crispy brown golf course as the sky turned pink was one of those little decisions that ended up taking on a pretty big significance. It was a loooooooong, cold winter and running across the grass together taking turns sending the big butterfly kite sailing was something we all needed more than we realized. In other words, today's lesson is "say yes."

It had been awhile since I barrel-rolled down a grassy hill. Note to self: do this more often.

The first time Bea sent the kite into the air, she literally yelled out this long, sweet "This is amazzzzzzing!"  Here's a video of one of another scene.

In other "say yes" bonus footage, this has become a favorite activity around these parts lately. The giggles say it all.
