Autumn: Missed Moments

As I sit here, deep in the throws of winter with temperatures in the single digits and yet another blast of snow on the ground, it's lovely to return to the memories of my favorite months of the year. It's funny really, how some spans of time can tick-tock by so painfully slow that it feels unbearable (says the mama who spent months on full time bedrest) and others can zoom by so painfully fast that it's almost like they never existed. Autumn of 2013 feels very much like the latter.

Because this blog began as a place to document our family's history and because it continues to serve that very important purpose for us, it felt necessary to include some missed moments here.

Moments from a trip to Chicago to celebrate Sweet Lyla's 5th birthday...

Little moments like a lunch date at school with Josie and time spent outside on sunny afternoons...

Bea's "Foofa"

Moments when the work/life balance tilts in favor of a trip to Boston...

And moments when it tilts back toward clowning around with the kiddos (poses by Josie; photos by Beatrice)....

Moments when their big personalities and little idiosyncrasies shine through...

Home project moments...

Moments of super-awesome sisterhood....

Moments of gratitude...

And moments when it feels as though your heart might actually burst....

A STRAWBERRY YOGURT & TOMATO SANDWICH THAT BEA MADE ME!

And, even in the sea of insanity that was October & November, there were moments of stillness and peace...
The girls' introduction to the art of the candlelit bath
...And just like that, these moments have officially been reclaimed. :)
