Just we two...

...at the zoo! I have so many wonderful memories of little adventures with Josie & it's always so fun to  get away for little adventures with just Bea & me. Yesterday we dropped off Josie at school and hit the zoo right at 9am. That first opening hour at the zoo is always so peaceful and lovely, and yesterday did not disappoint. Such a gorgeous sunny morning and we really enjoyed ourselves.

We had the whole manatee exhibit to ourselves. Very zen watching them together. We both thought that was pretty cool. (Does anyone know if the manatees at the Cincy Zoo are a mama/baby pair? I swear at one point the little one was trying to nurse!)

The guy from the Cincy Audubon Society helped us get a peacock show.  He "showed off" for the peacock that in turn wanted to show off for the rest of us to prove he was more beautiful (and he was).  We were definitely impressed.  (Oh & we saw a flying, squawking peacock. I had no idea they flew like that & I swear it looked like a dragon, which was hysterical that my first reaction was Oh no, a dragon!)

Everything at the zoo is in bloom!  It was such a gorgeous morning and the feeling of spring in the air was palpable.

"Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun, Please shine down on me!"

The sun kept making this "daisy" pattern that I couldn't get enough of? (Ha, who says lens flares are over-done?!)

Taking some time to stop and smell the tulips.

Literally.

And I'll leave you with a little video of our time at the Polar Bear tank, which we again had all to ourselves. I think the Polar Bears were putting on a little show just for us. Bea was MESMERIZED!
